The intent of this paper is to establish an all-encompassing overview of how national administrations involved in naturalisation processes (i.e. granting nationality or citizenship) function and differ from each other. In order to have a projection of how the different Member State’s systems interact in the naturalisation process, and evolve, the focus will be centred on the variation of eligibility requirements for second generation migrants differs from the so called first generation’s requirements.
